Leeds Building Society celebrates new partnership with Variety Children's Charity
Leeds Building Society is celebrating its new partnership with Variety, the Children's Charity by supporting the topical 'Star Wars' gold heart badge campaign. Leeds is the only financial organisation to have the badges on display and they will be on sale, for a suggested donation of £1, at all 65 U.K. branches of the Society until Wednesday 29th February.
Variety's Star Wars 2012 Gold Heart badges, featuring Star Wars fan favourites C-3PO and R2-D2, will inevitably become part of the highly sought after Star Wars memorabilia as they coincide with the all-new, eagerly anticipated 3D release of 'Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace,' in cinemas during February 2012.

The gold heart badge campaign is the first initiative since the partnership between the two organisations was announced in late 2011. This relationship sees Variety join Leeds Building Society's Caring Saver account. The funds raised through this account will help the charity meet the special needs of more children across the UK, whilst giving savers the opportunity to see the additional benefits from choosing to invest in the Caring Saver account.
Colleen Ettridge, Major Accounts Fundraising Manager at Variety said, "We believe every child should have the chance to enjoy their childhood and realise their unique potential despite disability, illness or disadvantage. Leeds Building Society's support through their Caring Saver Account enables us to reach more children and young people and improve their lives."
Stewart Bannister, Leeds Building Society's Marketing Communications Manager said, "The Caring Saver is the kind of account that appeals to your head as well as your heart. It offers an attractive rate of interest whatever your investment, plus easy access to your money. Charity supporters often make donations straight out of their own pocket and that is where the Caring Saver is different, providing customers with a competitive rate of return on their savings and making a difference to people who really need it at the same time."
